Here’s your “Honey-Do List”
Mark your calendar to do these often over looked household chores, and keep your home in top shape all year.
WEEKLY
*Clean the lint trap in your dryer after each load.
*Vacuum carpet and rugs at least once a week, and twice a week for high traffic areas.
*If available, test your carbon monoxide detector.
MONTHLY
*Eliminate gnats that live in traps under the sink by pouring ¼ cup bleach down the drain. Follow with 1 gallon of water.
*Clean your refrigerator door deal with warm soapy water and a sponge.
*Rum pieces of lemons through the disposal to eliminate unpleasant odors.
*Remove bacteria causing residue in whirlpool tubs that aren’t self cleaning. Fill the bath with warm water 2 inches above the jets. Add 2 teaspoons of dishwashing detergent and 20 ounces of bleach. Run the jets for 5 to 10 minutes. Drain and rinse tub with clean water.
*Change you’re A/C filter the 1st of every month.
TWICE A YEAR
*Change the batteries in both smoke and carbon monoxide detectors when daylight savings time begins and ends.
*Inspect the exterior of your home for cracks in the bricks, foundation, or stucco and damaged gutters and roof shingles.
*Clean exterior light fixtures to remove dead bugs and cobwebs.
*Vacuum the coils on the back of your refrigerator and the vent on the front of the unit to keep it running efficiently.
*If you use dryer sheets, take out the lint screen and wash thoroughly.
